Sun Spots (20230106)

Check out my seeing animation taken here in the Alps under the worst conditions I ever decided to capture photons anyways.

It was extremely hard and time consuming to focus my lens manually, while mounted on a photo tripod (no tracking) and having to watch the changes on my Linux desktop computer's big screen inside, while having brightest sunlight in my face.

Nevertheless, it was worth it: For the first time I drove my ASI533MC Pro to it's limit, using the minimal exposure setting it allows, 0,000032ms (0,032µs) which would be 1/31250s on a DSLR. Pro DSLRs usually offer no shorter exposure time than 1/8000s at best. Ti compensate for the very dark image I raised the gain to 200.

I am more than happy with my post processing's result!

Title: Seeing Animation (20230106)

Description: Though this tiny seeing animation of a dancing summit cross 12km aerial distance away looks like a slow motion video, you may realize how heavy blur and motion made it rather impossible to focus from a tripod without tracking.
